Show your pride in the USA with this patriotic flag inlay pen. Just like Old Glory, this flag consists of 50 stars, 7 red stripes, and 6 white stripes. There is also one extra white stripe for separation. I hand-placed and glued each of these laser-cut wood pieces. The stars and white stripes are made from beautiful curly Maple. The blue background and red stripes have been color stabilized, a process where colored resins are injected into the wood pores under high pressure then heat treated. This strengthens and colors the wood. After gluing, the body is then carefully turned on my lathe until it is the correct size and shape. I protect it with 12 coats of durable cyanoacrylate finish and polish it to a high gloss before assembling the flag inlay into the pen. The pen also features titanium gold accents and the lower section and finial of this pen are plated in extremely durable black titanium.
The Parker-style refill is extended by twisting the finial at the top of the pen above the clip. The lower section of the pen below the lower twin beads unscrews to change the refill. Included with the pen is a premium EasyFLOW 9000 ink cartridge, manufactured by the Schmidt company in Germany. I have found this to be the finest Parker-style ink refill available.
