1173 Grant Cocobolo
This elegant Grant twist pen uses gold titanium trim to accent the luxurious Cocobolo body. Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa) is an exotic wood native to Central America. Woodworkers and turners have long valued this dense wood for fine furniture and cabinetry. Musical instruments and custom pool cues are often created from this wood. The wood is very durable and has a dark brown, reddish-orange color. This is said to be the most popular wood for pens. To protect the wood, the pen is finished in over 10 coats of durable cyanoacrylate finish that have been polished to a high shine. The writing tip can be exposed by twisting the upper body of the pen relative to the lower section, in either direction. This pen uses readily available Parker-style ink refills. The ink cartridge can most easily be accessed by unscrewing the nib (tip) of the pen.
