This capped rollerball pen is turned from Olivewood (Olea hochstetteri ). This tree is native to Eastern Africa and grows between 25 and 50 feet high. Those trees used for olive production are usually kept smaller. Olivewood has a very tight grain and it produces a wonderful fruity smell when I turn it on my lathe. It is a beautiful brown wood with figured brown lines running through. My source for this Olivewood tells me that it was harvested in the Holy Land and included a certificate of authenticity, which I will pass along to you. Since Olivewood from this region is so commercially popular, harvesting is strictly regulated and only the prunings from the Olive trees can be used. After turning to the correct shape and size, I finish this wood with over 12 coats of durable cyanoacrylate and polish it to a high shine. The pen is further enhanced with bright chromium trim accented by gold plated patterns on the center band and end cap.

The top cap of this pen unscrews to reveal the writing nib. The cap is postable, meaning it can be screwed onto the opposite end of the pen when in use. Included is a premium German-made Schmidt rollerball cartridge.
